Ballia, 31 October (HIST). Everyone has a different story of struggle in their life. The life story of the women in Bahadur of Hanumanganj block of Ballia may be small, but they have set out on the path of removing their own poverty by working together. He has made Swadeshi a weapon to remove poverty. This Diwali, the cow dung lamps made by him are getting a lot of buyers.

Through Maa Gayatri Self Help Group, she is making lamps from cow dung. There are five qualities of lamps. In this, the lamp with ghee wick and candle is the center of special attraction. However, these women are also making normal lamps. There are 12 women members in the group. Everyone is working together. Due to this, his monthly income has increased from Rs 25 thousand to Rs 50 thousand in a year. This Diwali, the demand for the lamps manufactured by them has also increased. This time the women of the self-help group have made five thousand lamps. The good thing is that due to government efforts, on the occasion of Ballia Mahotsav, a special shop has been set up in Police Lines for four days from 28th October, where people of the city are also coming to buy lamps from them.

Machine makes lamps faster

Women of self-help groups do not work every day to make lamps. She works only once a week, on Sunday, for three hours. To prepare lamps, women have also purchased a machine from the block headquarters for Rs 22500. Machine manufacturing of lamps has started at a rapid pace. Women keep putting cow dung in the machine and a designed lamp starts coming out of the machine. After the lamps are designed, women color them by hand. The lamps come in five designs. The best lamp in this is a lamp with ghee and candle. All that remains is to light this lamp. In a normal lamp a separate lamp has to be lit. The lamp containing ghee and candle is kept in a cool place so that the wick in it does not melt due to heat.

If we get a permanent shop then things will be resolved.

Sharda Sharma, president of the self-help group, says that a loan of Rs 1 lakh has been taken through the efforts of NRLM to create employment. Bought a lamp making machine from him. Some money was also spent on colors and other resources. A demand is being made from the district administration to arrange a permanent shop somewhere in the city so that Mother Gayatri Deepak has a distinct identity. Once a shop is found, the sales of the product will increase further.
