America’s newly elected President Donald Trump will take oath in January. Before taking the oath of office as President on January 20, he has received a setback from the court. A US judge has rejected Trump’s plea to overturn his conviction in a money laundering case.

The court has rejected Trump’s petition to cancel the Supreme Court’s sentence in the secret money case. Manhattan Judge Juan M. March rejected Trump’s petition. Trump’s supporters argued that continuing the case would hamper Trump’s abilities as president and prevent him from running the government well.

What is the matter?

Donald Trump had physical relations with adult star Stormy Daniels in 2006. This matter was much discussed during the 2016 presidential elections. Stormy was threatening to make this incident public, after which Trump paid her secretly. Trump has been convicted of falsifying business records to conceal a $130,000 payment to Daniels.

Stormy Daniels previously told the court that when she first saw Trump, he was wearing silk pajamas. Describing the incident, Stormy Daniels said that Trump asked me about my career in the adult industry. He asked if I had been tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

Trump will take oath on January 20

The Republican Party regained control of the Senate, where they hold 52 seats compared to the Democrats’ 47.
