Court sentenced Virendra and Raghuveer who became teachers on fake B.Ed degree

Dehradun, 2 December (HS). The court has sentenced five years of rigorous imprisonment to two people who worked as teachers on the basis of fake B.Ed degree in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. Apart from this, a fine of Rs 10,000 has also been imposed on him.

Actually, both teachers Virendra Singh son of Jeet Singh and Raghuveer Singh Butola son of Bhagat Singh were appointed to the job on the basis of their fake B.Ed degrees. Investigation by the Education Department and SIT found that no B.Ed degree was issued in the name of both of them from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. After this, a case was registered against these teachers and they were dismissed.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Ashok Kumar Saini, after the hearing, found both of them guilty and sentenced them to rigorous imprisonment of five years each and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000. Non-payment of fine will result in additional jail term of three months. Both the convicted teachers Virendra Singh and Raghuveer Singh Butola have been sent to District Jail Pursari (Chamoli) in judicial custody. In this case, prosecution officers Pramod Chandra Arya and Vineet Upadhyay represented the state government.
