Five years ago, in the Konch police station area of the district, three people from the village, who was fencing his fields with wire, had attacked him with a crowbar with the intention of killing him. Due to which the farmer fell down dying. The villagers saw him and took him to the primary health centre, from where he was referred. The farmer died during treatment. The nephew of the deceased farmer had filed a complaint in the police station and registered the case. The police had increased Section 302 and arrested the accused and sent him to jail. The police presented the charge sheet in the court in the incident. In this case pending in the court, during the hearing on Wednesday, the judge has sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment and half-prison after he was found guilty due to the advocacy of the government advocate.
According to the information, Harimohan, a resident of village Chandurra of Konch Kotwali, was doing wire fencing on his farm on the morning of 22 November 2019. Then Santosh, son of Daulat and two unknown persons from the same village came and started forbidding him from doing wire fencing. When he did not agree, the said people, with the intention of killing him, killed the farmer by hitting him with a crowbar. Then Ramlal and Sudhir from the same village came, they challenged the attackers and the three of them ran away after threatening to kill them. The villagers took him to the primary health center in Konch in a critical condition. Where the doctors had referred him after seeing his deteriorating condition. On November 23, 2019, the nephew of the injured had filed a complaint at Kotwali Konch and registered a case under sections 307, 323, 504, 506. Meanwhile, Harimohan died during treatment. The police had invoked Section 302 in the incident and arrested the accused Santosh and sent him to jail. The police had filed a charge sheet and sent it to the court. The said accused is detained in jail since then.
This case was pending before Additional District Judge I Shivkumar. During the hearing on Wednesday, Additional ADC Mahendra Vikram proved the accused guilty on the basis of good debate and evidence. Upon conviction, Judge Shivkumar sentenced Santosh to 10 years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 13,000. Half of the fine will be given to the plaintiff.
