News India Live, Digital Desk: Mathura shahi idgah dispute: A new update related to Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Shahi Idgah Mosque has surfaced in Mathura. There has been a significant turn in this case, where the court has rejected a demand that appealed to the royal Idgah mosque to be called a ‘disputed structure’.
What was the demand and why was it done?
In fact, a petition was filed in the court by Dinesh Sharma, a lawyer of the Hindu side in this case. In this petition, he had demanded that the court should not call the royal Idgah Mosque as ‘Shahi Idgah’ and called the ‘disputed structure’. Advocate Sharma argued that using the word ‘royal Idgah’ gives him the validity of being a ‘mosque’, while the Hindu side claims that it is a disputed place and is built over Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi.
Court verdict and its reason:
On this demand, the court of Mathura District Judge Pradyuman Kumar Singh ruled and dismissed it. The court said that the petition has shown this structure as ‘Shahi Idgah Mosque’ and there is no concrete basis to change it at this stage. The court also said that this demand has been made ahead of time. That is, it is not appropriate to make such changes until the hearing of the case does not progress further and things are not clear.
What will happen next?
Actually, this whole matter is related to the demand to remove the royal Idgah Mosque from the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi campus, which the Hindu side considers its birthplace. This decision of the court is another important stop in this long -running legal dispute. The next hearing of the case is to be held on 1 July 2024, where further legal proceedings will be decided.
