Kanguva: Tamil star Surya’s much awaited film ‘Kanguva’ has been released in theaters after much fanfare. However, the fantasy action drama directed by Siva received very negative reviews. Along with this, the film failed at the box office in the first week of its release. Mega budget Kanguva is barely making money.
How much did Kanguva earn on the seventh day?
The star cast of Kanguva was very big. Also, the film was made on a big budget. The film was promoted so much that looking at the pre-release buzz of Kanguva, it seemed that the film would make a good amount of money as soon as it hits the theatres. However, the film’s weak story sank it. Kanguva received very negative reviews from critics and audiences. Along with this, this mega budget film has also failed at the box office. Talking about the earnings of Kanguva, the film opened its account with Rs 24 crores on the first day of its release. The film earned Rs 9.5 crore on the second day. The film collected Rs 9.85 crore on the third day, Rs 10.25 crore on the fourth day, Rs 3.15 crore on the fifth day and Rs 3.25 crore on the sixth day. Now the initial earning figures have come on the seventh day of the film’s release i.e. first Wednesday. According to the report, Kanguva has done a business of Rs 2.40 crore on the seventh day of its release. With this, the total earnings of Kanguva in seven days has now become Rs 62.40 crore.

The box office performance of Kanguva is quite shameful. The film has earned around Rs 60 crores in 7 days of its release. At the same time, it is impossible to make the budget of this film made for an average of Rs 350 crores. With this, the flop break has been imposed on Kanguva.
Ahead of the film’s release, producer KE Gnanavel Raja expressed confidence that Kanguva would break records and gross over Rs 2,000 crore worldwide. He also predicted that the film would be the first Tamil film to cross the Rs 1,000 crore mark, joining the ranks of blockbuster films like RRR, Baahubali and KGF. However, the film’s earnings are now making the makers cry. Now clouds of doubt are hovering over the sequel as well.
