Bajwa, citing a news report, said that the Punjab Chief Minister is telling the voters of Jalandhar West that a corrupt person has resigned and now this assembly constituency will get an honest MLA. He pointed to former AAP MLA and BJP candidate Sheetal Angural, who had quit the AAP and joined the BJP and later resigned from the post of MLA.
He asked if the Punjab chief minister could try to explain why no action was taken against the same corrupt MLA when he was part of his government. Bajwa said the AAP government protected him only because he was from the AAP.
Senior Congress leader Bajwa said the AAP government claimed to be a completely honest party but still failed to take action against ministers, MLAs and other party leaders whose names had surfaced for corrupt and unethical activities
She said that the Punjab Chief Minister had accused former Health Minister Vijay Singla of corruption but no action was taken against him. Similarly, no action was taken against Cabinet Minister Lalchand Kataruchak, who allegedly sexually exploited her. Apart from this, similar allegations were also made against the AAP MLA from Kartarpur.
The opposition leader said that Jagraon MLA Sarabjit Kaur Manuke left no stone unturned to illegally occupy the property of an NRI family, yet AAP protected her. Aam Aadmi Party did not take any action against Bathinda Rural MLA Amit Ratan Kotfatta and Cabinet Minister Fauja Singh Sarari.
Bajwa said that this is the character of the strict and honest government in the state
