Ahmedabad: Due to mixed weather, the epidemic is increasing in entire Gujarat including Ahmedabad. Since the beginning of March, a worrying trend has been seen in the patients of viral infection; after three months, two corona infected people have been found in Ahmedabad. In the last one month, 180 cases of H1N1 influenza virus i.e. swine flu have been reported in Gujarat, while 9 patients have died. Doctors have also expressed concern over the sudden increase in swine flu cases, especially in Ahmedabad.
From private clinics in Ahmedabad to Asia's largest civil hospital in Asarwa, OPDs are also filled with patients suffering from viral infections and swine flu. At present, five swine flu and two Covid positive patients are admitted in the civil hospital. Among them, a 40-year-old man and another 75-year-old woman have tested Covid positive. At present both the patients have been kept on oxygen.
Similarly, it has also come to light that last week more than 10 thousand patients had to be admitted and treated in Sola Civil. Whereas 1573 cases of viral infection have been reported. No swine flu patient has tested positive for Covid in Sola Civil during the last week.
Due to increasing heat level in Ahmedabad since last one week, water borne epidemic has also become worse. During the last one week, 14 cases of diarrhea and vomiting have been reported in Sola Civil. As far as the mosquito-borne epidemic is concerned, 73 suspected cases of dengue were reported, out of which 3 patients reported positive. While samples of 205 malaria and 7 chikungunya suspected patients have been taken. Apart from this, two patients of hepatitis and four of malaria have been reported.
