Katihar, 07 July (HS). State Cooperative Minister Dr Prem Kumar on Sunday laid the foundation stone of 08 PACS godowns in Barsoi, Balrampur, Phalka, Barari, Ahmedabad, Manihari and Dandkhora blocks of Katihar district.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad, Mayor Usha Devi Agarwal and Legislative Council Member Ashok Kumar Agarwal were present in the above program organized at the Engineering College Campus located in the Municipal Corporation area.
The warehouses for which the foundation stone was laid include one warehouse of 200 tonnes, four warehouses of 500 tonnes and three warehouses of 1000 tonnes. It is noteworthy that 88 warehouses have been completed in the district's PACS/Vyapar Mandals and warehouses are under construction in 09 PACS/Vyapar Mandals.
The Cooperative Minister said that warehouses should be constructed as per the availability of land in all the remaining PACS/Business Boards of Katihar district where there are no warehouses.
