Convicted prisoner committed hooliganism in jail, tore the uniform of Assistant Superintendent; Swear words

Sri Muktsar Sahib: A prisoner serving a 10-year sentence in an Arms and NDPS Act case committed hooliganism in Muktsar district jail. A case of the accused misbehaving with an Assistant Superintendent in the jail and tearing his uniform has come to light. A case has been registered against the accused in Sadar police station under various sections. Let us tell you that hearing of six other cases is going on against prisoner Ajay Kumar, son of Ved Prakash, resident of Kalyanpur police station, Kiratpur district, Rupnagar.

In the complaint given to Police Station Sadar Muktsar, Superintendent District Jail Muktsar said that prisoner Ajay Kumar was brought to this jail on administrative grounds from Central Jail Rupnagar on March 11, 2023, as per the orders of Additional Director General of Police, Chandigarh.

Last Sunday, around 12:15 pm, as per the instructions of the Head Office, when Assistant Superintendent Varinder Kumar, posted in this jail, along with the staff on duty, went out for searching, he came to know that there was no prisoner lodged here. In the afternoon, when he asked them to arrest the prisoners inside the jail, prisoner Ajay Kumar alias Raji started arguing with Assistant Superintendent Varinder Kumar by abusing and using abusive language. Abused using indecent language. After this he held Varinder Kumar's neck and tore his uniform.

Based on the statements of the complainant, police station Sadar Muktsar has registered a case against the accused under section 323,353,186,506 IPC and started further action.
