Conversion Case in UP: Investigative agencies have also become active after the revelation of conversion under the guise of prayer meetings in Sevanagar, Nandgram area of Ghaziabad. According to police sources, Christian missionaries were converting the sick by luring them with treatment, marriage and money. Due to the suspicion of foreign funding, the bank account details of Ingraham Education Institute PTI and its affiliates are being investigated.
According to police sources, PTI Gerald Mathews Massey of Ingraham Educational Institute and his associates used to trap poor and needy people by luring them with the promise of treatment, marriage and jobs. After this, he used to motivate them to attend prayer meetings according to the customs of Christianity. There, some people were asked to convert others to provide facilities according to their needs.
12 families were converted
According to Naveen Singh, Metropolitan Convenor of Bajrang Dal Dharm Jagran Cell, the gang converted 11 families in Nandgram area. Apart from this, it has also been learnt that a family in Sanjay Nagar Sector-23 has been converted. It has been learnt that this gang is active in many other areas of Ghaziabad as well. The organisation is investigating this matter at its own level.
There was a ruckus at the police station in favor of the accused
On receiving information about the arrest of PTI Gerald Mathews Massey of Ingraham Educational Institute and his companions, some people reached Nandgram to protest. They created a ruckus calling the allegation of religious conversion false. It is being told that people who came in support of Gerald Mathews Massey had come from Ghaziabad as well as from nearby districts. Naveen Singh of Bajrang Dal says that all these are people who have already converted. Nandgram ACP says that investigation is being done on all aspects. It is also being investigated whether any kind of funding was being done for religious conversion.
15 people were arrested in Karheda
About a year ago, a case of religious conversion was also reported in Karhera. Police have arrested 15 accused including seven women in the case. The accused were running a conversion gang in a rented three-storey house. People found there said that we were called on the pretext of kirtan. Here prayers were included instead of kirtan. They were lured to endure all the hardships if they became Christians.

The accused was also making a video of the entire process, after which a complaint was lodged in this matter after it went viral. Police investigation revealed that a conspiracy was being hatched to convert people en masse. The temptation of giving lakhs of rupees to people who refused to convert was revealed.
Gang caught in Modinagar
On 22 July 2022, a case of large-scale religious conversion came to light in Shahjahanpur village of Modinagar. The police registered a complaint and sent Hapur resident Mahendra and his wife to jail. Both were running a Christian missionary organization. In the case, Modinagar police filed a charge sheet and sent him to jail.
