Vijayawada, September 19 (HS). Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has made a sensational statement that animal fat was used in Tirumala Laddu Prasadam during the YSRCP rule. After this statement, politics has heated up in the state and today opposition YCP MP and former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam chairman YV Subbareddy strongly condemned these remarks. He said that the prasad laddus are made with organic ghee.
Subba Reddy accused the Chief Minister of playing cheap politics and said that you are showing low level politics. Your act will hurt the feelings of the devotees of Tirumala Tirupati Lord across the world. He challenged the state government to prove it and he is ready to take an oath in front of God along with his family.
Meanwhile, the state government and the Telugu Desam Party spokesperson submitted a report this evening, in which the NDDD lab, recognized by the central government, has confirmed that the ghee used during YCP's tenure contained animal fat. The prasad samples were sent to the lab on July 08, 2024 and the NDDD lab report was released on July 17. The report clearly states that cow ghee contains soybean, flaxseed, olive, wheat beans, maize, cotton seeds as well as fish oil, beef tallow, palm oil and pig fat.
Today Telugu Desam Party state spokesperson Anam Venkat Ramana Reddy proved with evidence that no quality was observed in the ghee purchased.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed regret over the sensational statement on Tirumala laddu. He said that the sanctity of Tirumala was corrupted during the YCP rule. He said that everything from the Srivari laddu prasadam considered the holiest by devotees to the Nityana prasadam offered in front of the idol was destroyed. It is said that animal fat has been added to the Srivari laddu prasadam, which is supposed to be made using pure cow ghee. He reminded that he had lodged a complaint on the issue that Tirumala laddu prasadam has been made substandard. No matter how many complaints were made, the sanctity of Srivari was harmed.
The Chief Minister said that he has ordered the Tirumala Tirupati management to take immediate action.
The Chief Minister has assured that the quality has increased now due to the actions of the State Government and the present Tirumala Tirupati management. We will further increase the quality. He said that the people of the State and we, all are fortunate that we have Venkateswara Swamy in our State. The whole world is coming to us for him. In that situation, it is the responsibility of all of us to protect the sanctity of Tirumala.
