KKR wrote a letter to BCCI regarding the new IPL rule: IPL teams have submitted the list of their retained and released players to BCCI. Now cricket fans are waiting for the mega auction, but in the meantime big information is coming out from Shahrukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders camp. According to media reports, Kolkata Knight Riders are not happy with the Right to Match (RTM) rule during the auction. Kolkata Knight Riders believe that, whether it is an IPL mini auction or a mega auction… the players should be retained, but the rules related to RTM should be changed.

Want to retain 8 of their players before the auction

Last season, Kolkata Knight Riders CEO Venky Mysore had said that they would like to retain 8 of their players before the auction, but they would like to use RTM for this. Then Venky is currently in news because of his statement about Mysore. Therefore, this time BCCI has announced some new rules before the mega auction. After this new rule, IPL teams can retain a maximum of 6 players. But if a team does not retain any player, they will have 6 right-to-match cards in the auction.

Shahrukh Khan's team wrote a letter to BCCI

According to Cricbuzz, Kolkata Knight Riders are not happy with these new rules. After some time, Shahrukh Khan's team has written a letter to BCCI. According to the letter, this new rule of BCCI ruined the strategy on which Kolkata Knight Riders had been working for a long time and the strategy had to be changed at the last minute.

Notably, in the IPL Mega Auction 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders is among the two teams who will not have right-to-match cards as they have retained their maximum of 6 players.
