The Energy Corporation has instructed the officials to monitor the power supply through the control room and resolve the complaints of the consumers immediately. A control room has also been set up in Shakti Bhawan, the headquarters of Energy Corporation.

Energy Corporation Chairman Dr. Ashish Kumar Goyal has instructed the managing directors, chief engineers and other officers of all the discoms to ensure cut-free power supply in all the areas of the state till November 15 in view of the festivals.

Authorities were alerted

He has said that all the officers should exercise full vigilance in their respective areas and make all preparations to remove the obstacles in power supply. Officers and employees must answer the phone to resolve consumer complaints.

He said that the availability of electricity in the state has been ensured as per the pre-estimated demand. Consumers can also contact toll free number 1912 to solve electricity related problems. The Chairman of the Energy Corporation has also directed the officials to make arrangements for immediate disposal of the complaints received on 1912, so that electricity can be available to every house during the festival.

Holidays of electricity workers and officers canceled in view of Diwali

Lakhimpur: At present, 24-hour electricity is available in the urban area, but maintaining the electricity supply is a big challenge for the authorities. However, due to low load, officials have little hope of disruption in power supply. At present, in view of Diwali, the leaves of all the employees and officers of the electricity department have been cancelled.

In view of Diwali, the electricity department is claiming to be fully prepared. Executive Engineer Shailendra Singh said that although the district headquarters is getting electricity 24 hours a day, to ensure that this system continues uninterrupted, eight mobile transformers of 400 KVA have been ordered separately. If any transformer blows, it will be replaced immediately.

Arrangements for AB cable, line conductor, insulator have also been made. A separate control room has been made at every sub-station. A team of four employees will be deployed at every sub-station, who will immediately reach the spot on receiving information and restore the interrupted supply. The work of pruning trees on the roads has been completed to protect the power lines from breakage.

Officials say that about 65 percent of the work under improvement in the urban area has been completed. Due to new cables being laid, the risk of them breaking is negligible, but still maintenance work has been done and instructions have been given for patrolling where the lines have not been changed. XEN says that replacement transformers have been installed and now there is not a single transformer pending. XEN also said that leaves of employees and officers have been cancelled, if anyone is found missing from duty, action will be taken against him.
