Mirzapur, 30 October (Hindustan Reporter). In Haliya development block of the district, contract workers including MNREGA employment servants will have to celebrate Diwali without honorarium. Not only this, three months' honorarium has not been paid to MNREGA workers yet. It was said that this situation has arisen due to not getting the budget from the government. There is resentment among MNREGA workers regarding this.
It is noteworthy that the government has given orders to give salaries and pensions to the state employees even before the festival of Diwali. Employees of most of the departments got their salaries transferred to their accounts through RTGS by the evening of Dhanteras. BDO Haliya said that the honorarium of 57 employment servants and one additional program officer, one accountant, computer operator and technical assistant posted in the block office has not come for three months. MNREGA workers said that the government is not paying honorarium on time every month. Due to this they are facing financial difficulties. The outstanding honorarium is not being paid even on the festival of Diwali. There was hope of getting honorarium on Dussehra, but who can say that Dussehra and Diwali will also be spent without money. Deputy Commissioner MNREGA Babban Rai said on Wednesday that the outstanding honorarium of MNREGA workers will be paid after the release of the budget from the government.
