Vadodara: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has allocated Rs 316.78 crore for the construction of a ring road in Vadodara metropolis under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shahri Vikas Yojana. VUDA made a presentation and proposal at GUDM, highlighting the need for a ring road to reduce traffic congestion as well as planned development in Vadodara metropolis and its surrounding industrial areas.
After this proposal was placed before Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, he has sanctioned Rs 316.78 crore to Vadodara Urban Development Authority (WUDA) for the construction of the ring road. This ring road of Vadodara metropolis is 66 km long and is to be built in a width of 75 meters. In its first phase, the Chief Minister has allocated this amount for a 27.58 km long ring road with a width of 45 meters.
With the allocation of funds for the first phase of this 27.58 km long ring road, the construction work will now accelerate. This will lead to work being done on 10.70 km in the eastern region and 16.84 km in the western region.
Not only this, the traffic burden on the road leading to Statue of Unity-Ekta Nagar will be reduced and vehicular movement on Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway-8 will also become easier.
The 16.84 km long ring road to be constructed in the western region will reduce traffic congestion and give new impetus to development around the ring road.
