Mumbai – In the case of two people throwing a Railway Police constable in front of a speeding train in Navi Mumbai, it has been revealed that the constable’s wife killed the constable with the help of her lover and other friends. The accused strangled the constable to death. Later he took her body to the tracks and pushed her off the train, pretending that she had died in an accident. However, the railway motorman saw two men pushing the constable on the track. Moreover, the last UPI payment made by the deceased constable while he was with the accused made it easy to trace the accused based on his last location and his CCTV footage.

In the case of murder of 42-year-old constable Vijay Chavan, working in Panvel Railway Police, the police have arrested his wife Pooja, main accused Bhushan Nimba Brahmin (29) and his friend Prakash alias Dheeraj Gulab Chavan (23) and Praveen, who had immoral relations with him. Aba Pan Patil (21) was arrested.

In this regard, GRP Deputy Commissioner Manoj Patil told the media that during our investigation we found that on the night of December 31, Prakash Chavan made Vijay Chavan drink liquor as per his plan. After this, Brahmin, with the help of his two associates, strangled Chavan to death.

To make Chavan’s death appear as a railway accident, he pushed the body from a moving local train. Police said Chavan’s wife Pooja was having an extramarital affair with a Brahmin and wanted to get rid of her husband, who had become a stalker after she moved in with him.

DCP Manoj Chavan further told that on December 31, Prakash had called Chavan to organize a New Year party. Later in the evening the deceased and the accused went together in a car and meanwhile she bought some food items from a shop on the road and deceased Constable Chavan made an online payment of Rs.24/-.

It was the online payment that led the police to Vijay Chavan’s killers. After getting information about this last online payment, the police got CCTV footage of the stall and the area, on the basis of which the police arrested the accused.

According to the police, after killing Chavan in the car, the accused took his body to a bush near the track between Rabale and Ghansoli stations on the Transharbour route. The accused remained hidden in the bushes for four hours until the first local train arrived in the morning. As the train approached, they pushed Chavan’s body onto the tracks and planned that Chavan had died in a train accident.

However, the train’s motorman saw that two people had actually thrown the men onto the tracks. Showing alertness, he informed the railway control about the entire incident and after stopping the train, he informed the GRP about the incident. After this incident, the police started investigation and arrested all four accused. DCP Patil said that the accused is currently in police custody.
