Congress released the second list of candidates

Congress released its second list of candidates for the Delhi Assembly elections late on Tuesday night, which includes the names of 26 candidates. In this list, tickets have been given to former ministers, leaders who recently joined the party and senior Congress workers.

Special attention on Matiya Mahal and Bijwasan seat

Congress has fielded former Delhi government minister Asim Ahmed Khan from Matia Mahal. Asim Ahmed Khan has recently left Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and joined Congress and had joined the party just a day ago. Former MLA Devendra Sehrawat, who left AAP and joined Congress, has been given the ticket for Bijwasan seat.

Big names on Jangpura and Seemapuri

From Jangpura, Congress has given ticket to former Delhi Municipal Corporation mayor Farhad Suri. He will contest against former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Meanwhile, Dalit Cell President Rajesh Lilothiya has been made the candidate for Seemapuri seat.

Major names of the first list

Congress had earlier released its first list on December 12, in which the names of 21 candidates were announced. The most talked about name in this was that of former MP Sandeep Dixit, who has been made the candidate from New Delhi seat. Sandeep Dixit will challenge Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on this seat.

Names of 47 candidates declared so far

Congress has so far declared its candidates for 47 out of total 70 assembly seats. The names of the candidates for the remaining seats will be announced soon. This time the party has selected candidates by striking a balance between experienced leaders and young faces.

Congress strategy in elections

This time Congress is trying to regain its lost support base in Delhi. By fielding prominent faces, the party has made a strategy to give a tough competition to AAP and BJP. According to the party, their candidates understand the public issues better and can solve them.
