Shimla, 22 August (HS). On the call of All India Congress Committee, the state Congress staged a sit-in protest in front of the Enforcement Directorate office in Shimla on Thursday and raised strong slogans against Adani and SEBI. They have demanded a JPC probe into the alleged relations between Adani and SEBI chief and a caste census in the country.

State Congress President Pratibha Singh accused the Central BJP government of playing with the country's economy to benefit a few of its capitalists. She said that the SEBI chief, who once worked in the Adani Group, is today financially benefiting this group. She said that the involvement of the SEBI chief in the Adani share scam exposed in the recent Hindenburg report should be investigated by JPC because crores of rupees of lakhs of shareholders of the country were lost in this scam. She said that the SEBI chief should be removed from his post immediately.

Meanwhile, AICC spokesperson and Theog MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are busy in ruining the country's economy. He said that whenever opposition leaders raise their voice against this, they are put in jail by threatening them with CBI and ED. He said that there should be an impartial investigation of financial scams in the country and this investigation is not less acceptable than JPC. He said that Congress is protesting against this mega scam across the country today.

Rathore said that the demand put forward by the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Parliament for a full investigation by JPC after the Hindenburg revelations is completely correct and justified, because the truth should come out in front of the country. How the central government is benefiting some of its special capitalists. He said that the BJP is also running away from the caste census. He said that the Congress is in favor of caste census in the country and will get it done. He said that now the dictatorship of the BJP will not work. The Congress will strongly raise its voice against it by going among the people.
