Congress MLA demands that CPS of opium production should be stopped

Mandsaur, 9 July (HS). The meeting of the Advisory Committee was organized by the Central Narcotics Bureau in the consultation room of the office of Deputy Narcotics Commissioner Neemuch on 9 July. In which Mandsaur MLA Vipin Jain gave suggestions on behalf of the opium artisans present.

Opium crop which is the identity of Mandsaur district, the farmers cultivating this crop have been troubled for a long time, the problems of these farmers are not being paid attention to. MLA Shri Jain gave suggestions to solve the problems of opium farmers in the advisory committee meeting. He said that it has been a long-standing demand of opium farmers that they should be re-presented the farmers who were cut in 1996-97. In this and the Narcotics Bureau will have to take necessary action, which will benefit the farmers associated with this opium cultivation for a long time. Also, Shri Jain said that opium cultivation has now become very successful. Many measures have to be given to the farmers for its protection. Farmers are not getting the right price for opium because the price of opium increases, so farmers can benefit from this cultivation.

The MLA also stressed on the demand to stop CPS and said that opium farmers are facing a lot of trouble due to CPS, because this phenomenon should be stopped. He also said that many officers and employees of the police and narcotics department are putting the accused in jail in many false cases in the name of dodachura. Many such cases have come to light. Therefore, dodachura will be excluded from the NPPS Act so that atrocities against farmers can be stopped.

Also, the MLA suggested that crop destruction should be done in the presence of the Mukhiya, morphine should be 3.5. And sometimes due to natural calamity the quantity of opium is less, because exemption is given in the quantity of opium. Doda should be broken by the farmers themselves and deposited in the presence of the Mukhiya and rules have been made accordingly for this year. Development of CPS will increase the price of doda. The naming process should be simplified and the process of live naming should be implemented. Misuse of Section 29 should be stopped. Opium crop is taken into crop insurance. Government, farmers and Narcotics department officials were present in this meeting.
