Congress | Live Updates, Unveiling the Latest India News Trends

Raipur, May 27 (HS). State Congress Communication Department President Sushil Anand Shukla issued a statement on Monday saying that the name of Godhan Nyay Yojana started during the previous Congress government is being changed to Gau Abhyaran. The BJP government has no plan for cow service.

In his statement issued on Monday, he said that more than 10 thousand Gauthans were built during the Congress government, three lakh acres of government land was protected. Traditional business was started in the Gauthan. Oil paroi, blacksmith, carpenter got work. There was a provision of fodder, water, medicine for livestock. Women self-help groups used to buy cow dung at two rupees per kg and cow urine at four rupees. Vermi compost and other products were made from the Gauthan, which has been closed for five months, now that scheme is being started again by changing the name.

Raising questions on the Gau Abhyaran being built by the government for the protection of cows, Sushil Anand Shukla said that the best scheme for the protection of cows and cattle, Gauthan, Godhan Nyay Yojana, has been stopped. Now the state government is remembering the protection of cows and cattle protection. Gauthan was such a scheme where the protection of cattle was being done by involving the villagers. This scheme had opened the way for economic progress of women groups along with the cattle. Every person was benefited in the Godhan Nyay Yojana, cattle rearers and shepherds were earning profit by selling cow dung, at the same time cows were being protected and cows were getting food and water. Due to political animosity, the Bharatiya Janata Party government stopped this scheme after the change of government. Now they are going to start the Gauvansh Abhyaran Yojana, no matter how many sanctuaries are made, in the end one will have to come to the Gauthan.

Sushil Anand Shukla said that the Chief Minister should tell how many cow sanctuaries will be built in the entire state? There is no better scheme than cow shelters for the protection of cows. Cows are not animals living in the forest, there are hundreds of domestic animals in every village, how many sanctuaries will be built for all of them? The proper care of cows can be done only in cow shelters at the village level, ultimately the government will have to take the same scheme forward.
