Dehradun, September 19 (HS). Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that one country one election is an important step in the progress of the country. He said that the destiny of the Congress is to oppose reforms.

Reacting to the statement of Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya, the party's state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that one country one election is the need of the hour. This will free the country from unnecessary expenditure incurred in Parliament, Vidhan Sabha or civic elections in different phases. The country will be freed from the economic burden of elections. Apart from this, due to elections being held in different phases, model code of conduct is imposed. This creates obstacles in taking policy decisions. This hinders development. But with the enactment of this law, development work can proceed at an uninterrupted pace.

Manveer Chauhan said that this experiment is not only being done in India, but the election process is going on in this way in 12 countries of the world. A committee of enlightened experts has recommended it on the basis of its merits and demerits. If this system is implemented in a country like India, then the development process will definitely move forward and along with that it will also get economic strength.

Chauhan said that the opposition Congress and Indi alliance has always opposed the process of reforms in the country. They have been continuously opposing NRC, farmers bill and UCC. At the same time, they have also had a negative attitude on decisions related to national interest. Opposition parties should decide their stand on the basis of merits and demerits. Negative attitude is an obstacle in development. The decisions being taken in the interest of the country by the Modi government will prove to be a milestone in the progress of the country.
