The bugle of Lok Sabha elections 2024 has been sounded and political excitement has increased across the country. In such a situation, all the parties are busy in preparations. Meanwhile, Congress has also intensified its election campaign, for which the party released its eighth list of candidates on Wednesday night. In the list, Anjali Nimbalkar, wife of IPS officer Hemant Nimbalkar, has been given the ticket from Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency of Karnataka.
BJP opened front against Congress
After giving ticket to Anjali Nimbalkar, political temperature has increased. BJP has opened a front against Congress. Anjali Nimbalkar's husband IPS Hemant Nimbalkar is currently the Commissioner of Information and Public Relations Department of Karnataka and this is the reason why BJP has approached the Election Commission regarding this matter.
Demand for transfer of Hemant Nibalkar
BJP has demanded from the Election Commission to transfer IPS officer Hemant Nimbalkar as soon as possible. In this matter, BJP says that Hemant Nibalkar has misused his position and made his wife a candidate from Uttara Kannada.
Anjali Nimbalkar accused of publicity
Apart from this, BJP also alleged that Hemant Nimbalkar is campaigning for his wife. The BJP demanded that the IPS officer be relieved of all election work. This is because it is causing a conflict of interest for them.
Anjali has contested elections before too
Anjali Nimbalkar is the granddaughter of former Maharashtra Chief Minister and country's Home Minister Shankar Rao Chavan. She is also a renowned gynecologist and IVF specialist. She was married to IPS Hemant. Anjali had earlier contested elections from Khanpur Assembly in 2017 on Congress ticket and became MLA.
