'Congress exposed…', Amit Shah angry over statement on inheritance tax, said- plan to grab people's property – News India Live

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: There is political turmoil after Congress leader Sam Pitroda's statement on 'inheritance tax'. BJP leader and Home Minister Amit Shah has targeted Congress on Pitroda's statement. Asserting that the intentions of Congress are clear, he said that Congress has been completely exposed by Sam Pitroda's statement.

The Home Minister says that Sam Pitroda played an important role in making the election manifesto of Congress. Amit Shah said, “When Modi ji raised this issue, the entire Congress, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi came on the backfoot. I believe that the Congress party will remove this issue from its manifesto. The people of the country should take Sam Pitroda's statement seriously.” seriously.”

Amit Shah said, “Today's statement of Sam Pitroda has made the objective of Congress clear before the country. First the mention of 'Survey' in their manifesto, Manmohan Singh's old statement which is the legacy of Congress – that the resources of the country are the first right of minorities and now Sam Pitroda's comment quoting America that there should be a debate on distribution of wealth. .”

Amit Shah said, “Sam Pitroda, citing America, had said that 55 percent of the wealth goes to the government treasury. Today Congress has made its objective clear that the personal property of the people should be deposited in the government treasury and distributed among the minorities.”

He said, “They want to survey the personal property of the people of the country. They want to keep it in government property and distribute it as per the decision during the UPA regime. “Congress should either withdraw it from its manifesto or accept it.” Actually, this is their intention. I want people to take Sam Pitroda's statement seriously, his intentions have now come to light, people should pay attention to it.”

What did Sam Pitroda say?

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had recently said in a statement that if his government comes to power after the elections, a survey will be conducted and it will be known who has how much property. When Sam Pitroda was asked about his statement, he mentioned the inheritance tax imposed in America.

Pitroda said, “There is inheritance tax in America. “If a person has assets worth $100 million, after his death, 45 percent of the assets are transferred to his children while 55 percent of the assets are owned by the government.”

He said, “This is a very interesting law. Under this, there is a provision that you have created a lot of wealth in your life and after you are gone, you should leave your wealth to the people. Not the entire property but half the property, which seems right to me but there is no such law in India.

Pitroda further said, “There is someone here who has assets worth Rs 10 billion. After his death, his children inherit all the property, leaving nothing to the public. I think people should discuss such issues. I don't know whether the outcome of this discussion as a whole is that we are talking about new policies and new programs which should be in the interest of the people and not just the rich.
