New Delhi, 13 April (HS). Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Parliamentary Party leader Sonia Gandhi and General Secretary (Organization) K.C. The meeting of the Congress Election Committee related to the Lok Sabha elections was concluded in the presence of Venugopal.
Senior leaders of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana Congress were present in the meeting. Discussion was held on the selection of candidates for two out of four Lok Sabha seats of Himachal Pradesh, in which Congress will soon announce its candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha seat.
While talking to the media after the meeting held on Saturday, Himachal Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh said that two-three names were discussed regarding Mandi Lok Sabha seat. The party is of the opinion that a young face should be fielded from this seat. He also said that Congress can field Vikramaditya against BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut from Mandi.
After the meeting, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh also said while talking to the media that discussions were held regarding the four Lok Sabha seats of Himachal. The name of the candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha seat will be announced soon. Senior Congress leader Rajeev Shukla said while talking to the media that discussions regarding the selection of candidates for two seats in Himachal have been completed. The decision on the remaining two seats is pending.
