Srinagar: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi arrived in Srinagar at a time when assembly elections are to be held in Jammu and Kashmir next month. When assembly elections are being held in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time after the abrogation of Article 370, Congress has decided to contest the elections in alliance with National Conference and CPI. The alliance with PDP is uncertain.
In Srinagar, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Dr. Rahul Gandhi reached Farooq Abdullah's residence. Here, after a discussion of about 40 minutes, they announced an alliance with the National Conference and CPM. Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah was also present in this meeting.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge expressed hope that other local parties including PDP will also join this alliance. He said that Rahul Gandhi wants to contest elections in alliance with local parties. Just as the All India Alliance has been successful in stopping BJP at the center in the Lok Sabha elections, in the same way we also want to come to power with full majority in Jammu and Kashmir by forming an alliance before the elections. However, according to sources, Omar Abdullah opposed the alliance with PDP. After this meeting, Farooq Abdullah said that an alliance has been formed with Congress on all 90 assembly seats of Jammu and Kashmir. A decision will be taken soon regarding the distribution of seats.
During this, while addressing the Congress workers, Rahul Gandhi said that he will work to get full statehood for Jammu and Kashmir as soon as possible. Getting full statehood for Jammu and Kashmir and providing rights to the people will be the main priority of the Congress Party and Bharat Gathbandhan. In the Lok Sabha elections, Bharat Gathbandhan has shaken the confidence of PM Modi.
BJP leader trusts Ram Madhav in Jammu and Kashmir
As soon as the assembly elections were announced in Jammu and Kashmir, all the parties became active. BJP has announced the name of Ram Madhav as the in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir. Ram Madhav was not active in BJP for the last five years.
He started working for the Sangh again. Ram Madhav has done a lot of work in Jammu and Kashmir before. Ram Madhav is well aware of the social politics there. Since the BJP has no other option than Ram Madhav to make them in-charge, he has been re-activated in BJP from the Sangh. The Sangh has a lot of trust in Ram Madhav, so there is a discussion that the Sangh had sent Ram Madhav's name to the BJP.
