While senior players of the Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be the pivot of batting in the 2025 Champions Trophy, the selectors may face a challenge with KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, and Ravindra Jadeja. After the recently concluded bilateral series and the 2023 World Cup, questions have been raised over the form and fitness of these three players.

Yashasvi Jaiswal may get a chance

The name of Yashasvi Jaiswal is being discussed. This left-handed batsman can bring variety to the team. If Yashasvi gets a chance, he will be a strong option in India’s top order.

sanju samson vs ishan kishan

Rishabh Pant is considered the first choice as wicketkeeper, but there are questions over KL Rahul’s place as backup. There may be a discussion between the selectors regarding Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson. Due to his association with Gautam Gambhir’s coaching, Samson may get priority.

Tough competition among spinners

Kuldeep Yadav has fitness challenges in the spin department. Ravi Bishnoi or Varun Chakraborty can be considered as his replacement. Axar Patel is being seen as a better option in place of Jadeja in white ball cricket.

Concern about fast bowling

The fitness of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is under question. If he is unavailable, Mohammed Shami’s experience can be used. Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, and Avesh Khan are also among the possible contenders.

Tilak Verma and Rinku Singh among reserve players

Tilak Verma and Rinku Singh are likely to get a chance as reserve batsmen. Both the young players are consistently performing impressively in domestic cricket and IPL.
