Jaipur, 6 August (HS). Flood like situation prevails in Jalore, Pali, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Ajmer after rain. Life here is being badly affected due to continuous rain. Administration and rescue teams are busy helping the common people. Light to moderate rain was recorded in about 15 cities in the state on Tuesday. On Tuesday also, good rain occurred in Pali, Jalore, Jaisalmer and other places. A seven year old child died and his younger brother and grandmother were injured due to collapse of a part of the house in Nagaur. Tordi Sagar dam of Tonk overflowed. A roadways bus was washed away in the flow area of the dam. The bus driver is missing in the accident. Thankfully, there were no passengers in the bus. Many trains were cancelled due to rain in Marwar region. The wall of Jaisalmer fort also collapsed. According to the Meteorological Department, 177 mm of rain was recorded in Jalore, 113 mm in Phalodi, 96 mm in Jaisalmer and 110 mm in Ajmer till Tuesday morning. So far 18 people have died in rain-related accidents.
There will be an increase in rain activities in the northern and eastern parts of the state
Director of Meteorological Center Radheshyam Sharma said that the well mark low pressure formed over the state has weakened and turned into a low pressure area. Due to its effect, intermittent rains occurred in Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Nagaur, Barmer and southern parts of Bikaner district on Tuesday. Heavy rains were recorded at some places. Heavy rain activities will decrease in Jodhpur division from August 7. With the monsoon trough line shifting towards normal condition, there is a strong possibility of increase in rain activities in the northern and eastern parts of the state. Rain activities are likely to continue in the coming days at many places in eastern Rajasthan. During this period, there is a strong possibility of moderate to heavy rains in some parts of Kota, Bharatpur, Jaipur and Bikaner divisions. On Monday, the maximum rainfall in eastern Rajasthan was recorded in Nasirabad, Ajmer at 165 mm, and in western Rajasthan, Mohangarh, Jaisalmer recorded 260 mm rainfall and Pali recorded 257 mm rainfall. On Tuesday, rain was recorded in Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaipur, Pilani, Sikar, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Churu, Dungarpur, Jalore, Karauli, Jaisalmer, Mount Abu and other places.

Chambal above danger mark After heavy rains in the state, Chambal river is flowing above the danger mark in Dholpur district. Currently, Chambal river is flowing 2.11 meters above the danger mark. Chambal river is at 130.79 meters. Good news has also come from Jaipur's lifeline Bisalpur dam. Here the water level of the dam has increased by 81 cm in 24 hours. Till 7 pm last evening, the water level was 310.97 RL meter. The total water storage capacity of the dam is 315.50 RL meter. On Tuesday, 21 cm of water arrived in Bisalpur dam. The gauge of Bisalpur has increased to 311.41 RL meter. After the onset of monsoon, Triveni has started flowing in the month of August. Currently, the water level of Triveni has been recorded at 2.75 meters. Due to continuous rain, the inflow of water in Bisalpur dam will increase further.
