New Delhi/Lucknow: After obtaining a major degree in engineering or computer science, every student dreams of getting a good job in a multinational company (MNC) and starting his brilliant career. But in the present times, it has become very challenging for the youth of the country to turn this dream into reality. Amidst the ongoing recession in the IT sector and tech industry, such an emotional story is going viral on social media, which has once again brought the bitter truth of the current job market in front of everyone.

This story is about a promising boy who graduated in first division in Computer Science (CS), who got tired after visiting hundreds of companies, and was forced to drive Rapido bike taxi to earn his living and meet his expenses.

This shocking secret revealed during ‘Rapido Ride’ in traffic jam

This heart-touching story has been shared on social media by ‘Neeraj’ (@nirajxdev), a user of X (formerly Twitter). Neeraj told in his post that he had recently booked a Rapido bike in Delhi-NCR. During the journey, suddenly his eyes fell on the sticker of a famous college on the rider’s helmet. What happened next, while stuck in heavy traffic jam, a conversation started between the two which lasted for about 10 minutes. In the same conversation, Ryder told that he has passed out with first division in Computer Science this year, but even after two months of getting the degree, his hands are empty.

Sent resume to more than 500 companies, but did not receive a single call from anywhere.

The young man told with a heavy heart that till now he has applied for jobs in more than 500 companies. Initially he used to keep count of every application, but later the number of rejections and silence increased so much that he stopped counting. The most painful thing was that most of the tech companies did not even reply after seeing his resume, nor did he get a chance for any interview. After two months of continuous wandering, when all his savings were exhausted, he started going out on the streets with his bike at 6 in the morning so that he could meet his daily expenses.

Hiding the truth from parents, said – ‘The condition of the job market is like this right now’

The most emotional aspect of this story came to light when the boy told that his parents are still unaware that their son is driving a bike taxi. They think that he is preparing for the online interview while staying at home. The boy does not want to give any mental stress to his parents at this age. Neeraj wrote that the most surprising thing was that despite so many difficulties, there was no complaint on the face of that boy about the system; All he was saying was that “this is the market condition at present.” His positive and fighting attitude is inspiring the netizens a lot.

‘Gig Jobs’ are becoming the last resort of the youth (Gig Economy).

After this viral post, fresh graduates from across the country have started sharing their bitter experiences in the comment section. Many youth say that despite having a good degree and excellent skills, it has become impossible to get an entry-level job these days. Career experts believe that due to the slow pace of hiring in the tech sector, the youth of the country are now forced to adopt gig jobs like food delivery, courier service and bike taxi, because earning starts here immediately. However, this temporary option is also a big crisis for the self-confidence of the youth.
