Ranchi, 4 October (HS). Jharkhand High Court on Friday directed the state government to complete the appointment process of watchmen in the state by December 6. High Court Justice SN Pathak has given this instruction while hearing various petitions filed demanding appointment of watchman.
Advocate MM Sharma argued on behalf of the petitioner. He told the court that the Home Secretary had given an undertaking to the court that the appointment process would be completed in three months but even after giving the undertaking, the appointment process was not completed. A total of 4861 Chowkidars are to be appointed in the state but the High Court has been approached against the delay in the appointment process.
