Complete ban on firecrackers in Delhi before Diwali, order will remain in effect till January 1

In view of the increasing pollution in the capital Delhi, firecrackers have been banned from 14 October to 1 January 2025. The production, storage, sale and use of firecrackers is banned. Delhi government has issued instructions regarding the ban. Apart from this, cooperation has also been requested from all the people of Delhi.

Ban on firecrackers in Delhi

On September 9, the Delhi government had banned the production, storage, sale and use of firecrackers till January 1 to tackle air pollution. Environment Minister Gopal Rai gave instructions for this. Like last year, this time too the government has banned the production, storage, sale and use of firecrackers in Delhi. Online sale and delivery of firecrackers will also be banned till January 1, 2025.

Environment Minister Gopal Rai had said that an action plan will be prepared with the help of Delhi Police, DPCC and Revenue Department to strictly implement the ban. The government is preparing a winter action plan based on 21 focus points to control pollution.
