New Delhi, 19 October (Hindustan Reporter). Under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme, 250 companies have so far offered 1.25 lakh internship opportunities. Registration of candidates has started from 5 pm on October 12 on the website created for this scheme.
Official sources said in the information given on Saturday that 250 top companies have registered under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme. 1.25 lakh internships have been offered by these companies. Internship for the pilot project of the scheme will start from December 2.
The scheme is being implemented by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs through the portal 'pminternship.mca.gov.in'. People in the age group of 21-24 years can apply under this scheme. Under this scheme, a trainee will get monthly financial assistance of Rs 5,000 for 12 months and a lump sum grant of Rs 6,000. Apart from this, every trainee will get the benefit of insurance coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana by the Government of India.
It is noteworthy that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced this scheme in the Union Budget 2024-25, the objective of which is to provide an opportunity to do internship in the top 500 companies of the country for 12 months.
