West Bengal riots: Communal riots have once again erupted in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. Restrictions under Section 163 of the BNS have been imposed in the district after a clash between two communities in Beldanga areas of Murshidabad. Police have also arrested 17 people in this case. The violence was reportedly instigated by an alleged doomsday message on a digital display board.
What was the matter?
According to a police officer, the clash started due to an anti-religious message on a digital display board installed at a temporary gate erected near the Kartik Puja pandal in Beldanga, which was intended to instigate a fight between Hindus and Muslims. In which a person from Muslim community threatened Hindus by giving anti-religious statements on social media to instigate people.
Use of country made bombs in communal violence
There was a dispute regarding this and a clash broke out between the two communities. In which stone pelting and vandalism was done with weapons. In which crude bombs were also thrown. Police brought the situation under control by morning. However, tension remains in the area.
Internet services suspended
Curfew has been imposed in Beldanga and Qazisaha and Begurban areas of Murshidabad. Internet services have been stopped. Due to the violence, Bhagir Express going from Sealdah to Murshidabad remained standing for hours. BJP targeted Mamata Banerjee government regarding this incident. A Trinamool Congress leader said that the situation is now under control.
