Moradabad, 16 July (HS). Divisional Commissioner of Moradabad division Anjaneya Kumar Singh held a review meeting with the officials related to divisional road safety committee in the auditorium of divisional commissioner's office on Tuesday in the presence of Deputy Inspector General of Police of Moradabad range Muniraj ji and District Magistrate Moradabad Anuj Singh. The commissioner gave instructions to speed up the necessary corrective works on the black spots identified in the division. It was told in the meeting that 17 black spots have been identified in the division's district Moradabad, 03 in Sambhal, 18 in Amroha, 13 in Rampur and 12 in Bijnor.

During the meeting, Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh reviewed in detail the status of road accidents in the division, corrective works done at the identified black spots, status of relief funds given under Solesium Scheme, pending cases of assistance funds given by the Transport Department in accidents caused by public service vehicles, district-wise review of enforcement work done in road safety matters, status of meetings of the District School Vehicle Transport Safety Committee, causes of traffic jams and preventive measures, e-rickshaw zoning regulation and preparations for the Kanwar Yatra.

While reviewing the status of road accidents, the Divisional Commissioner found that the maximum increase in road accidents, number of deaths and number of injured has been recorded in Bijnor district, on which the Divisional Commissioner directed RTO Enforcement Pranav Jha to take effective steps by inspecting the most accident-prone route of Bijnor along with NHAI and other concerned officials. During the meeting, he reviewed the required improvements on the black spots identified on the routes of NHAI and PWD in all the districts of the division.

He said that there should be no lack in taking action as per rules against those driving two-wheelers without helmet, driving without seat belt, using mobile phone while driving, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving in the wrong direction.

To maintain better traffic system during the Kavad Yatra in the month of Shravan, he instructed the traffic in-charge officers of the police department to effectively implement the route plan prescribed in each district.
