Ahmedabad, 9 October (Hindustan Reporter). Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel unveiled a commemorative postage stamp in Gandhinagar on Wednesday to commemorate 25 years of the development journey of Mundra Port. The commemorative postage stamp depicting the evolution of Mundra from a simple jetty to a global shipping hub as an important trading port of the country has been launched with the title '25 Years of Progress – Mundra Port'.
Indian Post has released this commemorative stamp on World Postal Day on 9 October. The title of this commemorative stamp issued by India Post is '25 Years of Progress – Mundra Port' and the stamp sheet consisting of 12 stamps has been prepared by India Post in collaboration with Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) Limited. A total of 60 thousand stamps along with 5 thousand sheets have also been printed in the Security Printing Press of Hyderabad. Not only this; A copy of the stamp sheet will also be permanently displayed in the National Philatelic Museum, New Delhi. This stamp will be available for purchase through the e-portal of Indian Post. Apart from the unveiling of the Mundra Port Commemorative Stamp, the special cover and stamp cancellation process has also been introduced by India Post. Mundra is an important port situated on the northern coast of the Gulf of Kutch. This port was permitted to be commissioned by the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) in 1994 as a captive jetty. After this, this port has developed on the basis of public-private partnership. Not only this; Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone (MPSEZ) is operational since 2001.
On the occasion of unveiling of this special commemorative postage stamp, Chief Post Master General of Gujarat Division of Postal Department Ganesh V. Savleshwarkar, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Pankaj Joshi, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Manoj Kumar Das and senior officials of Indian Post were present.
