Suddenly the steering of the Kaiserbagh depot bus going from Lucknow to Bahraich suddenly failed on the Ghaghra Ghat bridge in Jarwal Road police station area. Due to this the roadways collided with the double decker bus coming from the front. More than a dozen passengers were injured in this accident. The police took the injured to the hospital, where the treatment of the injured is going on.
On Wednesday evening, a double decker bus going from Gonda to Panipat collided with a bus from Kaiserbagh depot on Sanjay Setu Ghaghra Ghat bridge on Lucknow-Bahraich route. Due to the strong collision, the roadways bus rubbed the railing and stopped at some distance. There was an outcry among the passengers due to the sudden accident on the roadways. Due to the massive collision between the two buses, the police personnel present at the police post Ghaghra Ghat ran and saw that smoke was coming out from the engine of the roadways bus. With the help of people present nearby, the engine was extinguished with the help of water. Jarwal Road police station incharge Brij Raj Prasad, who was present on the spot, said that there were about 52 passengers in the bus. Whereas only seven passengers were present in the private bus going to Panipat. As soon as the accident occurred, the driver and conductor of the roadways bus fled from the spot and the treatment of the injured is going on.
There was a long traffic jam as soon as the accident happened.
Due to the collision between private and roadways bus on the bridge between Jarwal Road Sanjay Setu Ghaghra Ghat, there was severe traffic jam on both sides of the bridge. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded due to a two kilometer long traffic jam.
