Gopeshwar, 30 September (Hindustan Reporter). The students of Pokhari Mahavidyalaya of Chamoli district on Monday demonstrated from Pokhari Vinayak Dhar to the Tehsil campus regarding the shortage of teachers and other problems in the college and sent a memorandum to the District Magistrate through the Sub-District Magistrate.
Student Union President of the college, Sachin Negi said that the posts of teachers in various subjects are vacant in the college, hence there is disruption in the studies of the students. He said that there was a demand to approve English, Economics and Chemical Science at PG level, but till now no action has been taken on them, whereas CC route was constructed for transportation in the college. He said that if no action is taken on their demand soon, the students will be forced to protest.
University representative Ankit Chaudhary said that the government administration has been informed several times about the shortage of teachers in the college, but till now the administration has not taken cognizance of it, due to which the student union is forced to agitate. Due to lack of teachers, the future of the students is hanging in the balance.
On this occasion, Student Union President Sachin Negi, University representative Ankit Chaudhary, Akash Chamola, Saurabh Ramola, Pravesh Bhandari etc. were present.
