College employees staged a sit-in protest over 11-point demands, warned of agitation | News India

Nawada, 31 August (HS). On the call of Bihar State University College Joint Coordination Committee, a dharna was organized at Triveni Satyabhama College Hisua in Nawada on Saturday under the leadership of Teachers' Union Secretary Dr. Anjani Kumar and a phased agitation was announced if the 11 point demands were not considered. Addressing the teachers and employees sitting on the dharna, Dr. Anjani Kumar said that the dharna was organized for 11 point demands including attack on the autonomy of the university, creating problems by making new rules in salary pension payment, payment of the amount of the seventh pay commission from 2017 to 2019, creation of academic environment in universities and colleges, considering the service confirmation of college teachers and employees, raising questions on the legitimacy of the union and organization.

He said that if the government does not accept our demands properly, then a phased agitation is being considered. He said that college teachers and employees will never compromise their interests. For this also a peaceful agitation will be carried out. Addressing this Dharana program, the President of the College Teachers Association, Dr. Arvind Kumar said that the officers of the district administration also deliberately interfere in the work of college teachers, which is wrong.

He said that autonomy of higher education should be maintained at all costs. Only then quality education can be provided. On this occasion, Dr. Awadhesh Kumar, Dr. Shivendra Narayan Singh, Dr. Devendra Kumar, Dr. Poonam Bharti etc. also spoke about a phased movement. The college teachers and non-teaching staff have also decided to protest by wearing black badges on the occasion of Teachers' Day on September 5, demonstrating their unity. Information about the decision of the movement has also been sent to the Governor cum Chancellor of Bihar.
