Collector issued necessary instructions regarding firecrackers on Diwali

Shivpuri, 28 October (Hindustan Reporter). At present, preparations for Diwali festival are going on in Shivpuri district. In this sequence, in accordance with the instructions received from the Supreme Court and Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Shivpuri Collector and District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Chaudhary has issued an order regarding the manufacturing, use, sale, distribution and bursting of firecrackers during the Diwali festival in the district.

Under this order, green firecrackers can be used from 8 to 10 pm during the Diwali festival. Orders issued: Bursting of firecrackers will be restricted to a distance of 100 meters from sensitive areas like hospitals, nursing homes, health care centres, educational institutions, religious places etc.

Shivpuri Joint Collector JP Gupta said that in the order issued by the Collector and District Magistrate, the waste generated after burning of firecrackers should not be thrown in such places where there is a possibility of natural water sources and drinking water sources being polluted.

Similarly, the Collector has given instructions to all the sub-divisional officers (revenue), sub-divisional officers (police) and police station in-charges of the district to follow the instructions in their respective section police station areas. In case of violation of the said order, action will be taken against the concerned under Explosives Rules 1984 and Indian Justice Code 2023 and other relevant provisions.
