Korba, 16 May (Hindustanism). Collector Ajit Vasant inspected the mega project Gevra coal mine on Thursday. During this, he took stock of the coal excavation done in the mine, the process of surface level mining through modern machines, transportation of coal through dumpers and goods trains, including coal storage, silos and security arrangements. Apart from observing the activities of the mines from the view point of the Gevra mine, the Collector gave necessary directions to the SECL management officials.
He directed the management officials to regularly sprinkle water on the roads of SECL affected areas. Along with this, water should be supplied through tankers to overcome the problem of drinking water in the affected villages. The Collector gave instructions to supply water through tankers between 08 to 10 am. He gave instructions to control heavy blasting in coal mines and limited blasting when absolutely necessary. Along with this, the Collector discussed the problems and solutions related to the expansion of the project, measures being taken for environmental protection, plantation, CSR activities, land acquisition, revenue issues, rehabilitation and employment issues and gave necessary guidelines to SECL Gevra management. . During this, District Panchayat CEO Sambit Mishra, Regional General Manager of Mega Project Gevra area SK Mohanty, SDM Katghora Saroj Mahilange were present.
