Collector gave instructions to develop new nurseries for horticultural crops in Bastanar, Darbha and Bakavand.

Jagdalpur, May 19 (Hindustan Reporter) Collector Vijay Dayaram said that to increase the income of farmers, production of greens and vegetables including horticultural crops should be promoted. There is immense potential for the production of horticultural crops and vegetables in Lohandiguda, Bastanar and Darbha blocks of the district, better work should be done to benefit them by motivating the farmers here. Implementation should be done with special focus to encourage the cultivation of oil palm, cashew and rubber. Collector Vijay gave the above instructions while reviewing the departmental activities and schemes of the Horticulture Department in the Prerna meeting room of the Collectorate on Sunday.

The Collector said that the change should be reflected in the promotion of horticulture crops and vegetable production, keeping this in mind, do better work in the field. Must perform excellently in this direction to achieve the target. Provide Kisan Credit Cards to as many farmers as possible, so that farmers can do horticulture crop and vegetable production work with interest. During the review of departmental schemes, he directed to ensure implementation of Poshan Bari Vikas Yojana in all the schools and ashrams-hostels of the district. The Collector has asked to select farmers to benefit as per the target of building 15 poly houses in all the blocks. He directed to develop new nurseries in Bastanar, Darbha and Bakavand to expand horticulture activities in the district. In the meeting, detailed review of state funded scheme, community fencing scheme, micro irrigation scheme, vegetable field expansion scheme, flower field expansion scheme, shednet house scheme, horticulture mechanization, pack house scheme etc. was done.
