The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert of cold wave in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and other northern states. Due to fresh snowfall, the cold has increased in the hilly areas, while a thick blanket of snow has spread in many areas. This season may be pleasant for tourists, but it has brought challenges for local residents.
