Rahul Dravid's last reaction

After Team India became the champion, Rahul Dravid said in the dressing room, “Thank you all for making me a part of this wonderful memory. You all will remember this moment. It is not about runs or wickets. You will remember your career. I will remember these moments. I am less proud of you because of the way you fought and performed as a team. We also had disappointments where we came close to winning but could not win.

He further said that the entire team and support staff worked hard and made sacrifices. The whole country is proud of you all and you should be proud of what you have achieved. I think everyone has sacrificed a lot to see their families enjoying here. Many have families at home. Think of all the sacrifices you made as a child to be in this dressing room. Your parents, your wife, your children, your coach, your brother and many others have sacrificed a lot to enjoy this moment with you.

Thanks a lot Rohit Sharma

“Thank you everyone. I am at a loss for words today, which doesn't happen often. I couldn't be more grateful to have been a part of this. Thank you to everyone for the respect, kindness and effort you have put in,” Dravid said, referring to the coaching staff. After losing the ODI World Cup 2023 final, Rahul Dravid wanted to step down as head coach but was convinced to stay on by Rohit Sharma.
