CM Yogi's Nutrition Mantra – If children's health

Lucknow, 04 September (HS). Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath started the National Nutrition Month in Lok Bhavan on Wednesday. During this, he gave the mantra of nutrition to the people present in the program and said that if the health of children improves, the generation will prosper. CM Yogi said that a malnourished child is a challenge before the society. To build a healthy society and a strong nation, we will have to rise above caste, creed and religion and focus on each child. Only then will we be able to make India developed by 2047. For this, we will have to work hard from now on. He said that the dream of a developed India coming true means happiness on every face.

In the program, CM Yogi said that just as Mother Yashoda had raised Lord Krishna in the Dwapar era, similarly, in today's time, Anganwadi workers and assistants also have a role to play, they should take care of children like Mother Yashoda. He said that if Anganwadi sisters educate children of three to five years through quotes, then children will learn faster. CM Yogi said that this program of National Nutrition Month will further strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi's campaign for developed India. If the children of our state are well-nourished, then India will prosper. If the children of the state develop in terms of health, then India will develop.

CM Yogi, without naming anyone, took a dig at the opposition and said that during the global pandemic Corona, some people had fled abroad and some had gone for a holiday. He said that during Corona, when the Anganwadi sisters, Asha Bahus and NMs of the state worked together, Uttar Pradesh presented an excellent example of Corona management. Talking about the achievements of his government, CM Yogi said that the double engine government has constructed more than 18000 Anganwadi centers in Uttar Pradesh in the last seven and a half years. We are going to construct the remaining centers together.

Encephalitis under control

CM Yogi said that before 2017, thousands of children between the ages of 1 and 15 years were affected by encephalitis in this season. 60 percent of them died. 40 percent of them became victims of physical and mental disability. He said that in the last forty years, more than 50 thousand children died due to encephalitis in the state. The previous governments are responsible for the death of those children. Today, through inter-departmental coordination, a serious disease like encephalitis has been completely eradicated in Uttar Pradesh. This is the result of the excellent management of the double engine government.

To realize the dream of a well-nourished India, under the ongoing Jan Abhiyan led by CM Yogi, the rate of malnutrition in Uttar Pradesh has declined significantly in the last seven and a half years. According to the National Family Health Survey, in comparison to 2015-2016, in the year 2019-2020, the level of anemia in Uttar Pradesh has declined by 5.1, stunting by 6.6, underweight by 7.4 and dryness by 0.6. Today, the infant mortality rate in the state has come down from 61 per thousand to 38 and the maternal mortality rate has come down from 201 per lakh to 167.

Annaprashan of three children

In the program, CM Yogi presented nutritious food and gifts to three pregnant women. Kalpana, Monika and Khushnuma were among the women who received nutritious food. Apart from this, CM Yogi performed Annaprashan of three children Naitik, Viyansh and Ayushi. Under this, CM Yogi also pampered and caressed the children by applying tilak on their foreheads. Apart from this, he also honored the parents of children who moved from the malnourished category to the well-nourished category, Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi assistants.

Nutrition of 63% SAM children improved

Under the Sambhav Abhiyan, 1.9 lakh Anganwadi workers have been trained. In 2023, about 2.5 lakh SAM children were identified. Out of these, the nutrition of 63 percent children improved. So far in 2024, 1.8 lakh SAM children have been identified. Out of these, the health of 56 percent children was examined and treated. The measurement efficiency of recording the health checkup of pregnant women on the Poshan App has increased from 6 to 35 percent in June.

555 Anganwadi buildings inaugurated

In the program, CM Yogi inaugurated 555 Anganwadi buildings of 45 districts with Rs 66 crore. He also launched the 'Bal Bhog' portal https://uphcm.com/hcm/ related to the Hot Cooked Meal Scheme. Apart from this, insurance premium of Rs 8.78 crore was transferred to the bank accounts of Anganwadi workers in the program. He also transferred Rs 29 crore for the uniforms of Anganwadi workers and assistants.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Minister of State for Women Welfare, Child Development and Nutrition Baby Rani Maurya, Minister of State for Women Welfare, Child Development and Nutrition Pratibha Shukla and other dignitaries were present in the program.
