CM Yogi’s blunt remark to those who brandished weapons and rioted at the Ramlila festival, said, “The mafia will have to be buried.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a strong attack on his opponents from the land of Ghazipur. During the inauguration and foundation stone laying program of 268 development projects costing Rs 692 crore in Ghazipur, the Chief Minister fiercely targeted the Samajwadi Party and the previous governments. CM Yogi bluntly said that there is rule of law in the state and now no miscreant or mafia can dare to riot by brandishing weapons in events like Ramlila, because those who do so are bound to face the consequences.

Ghazipur gets gift of Rs 692 crore, announcement of expansion of expressway

CM Yogi Adityanath, who reached Ghazipur on Thursday, gave impetus to the development of the district and gifted 268 development projects worth about Rs 692 crore. During this, people of Ghazipur, Jakhaniya, Mohammadabad, Saidpur, Zamania, Zahurabad and Jangipur assembly constituencies were told to get direct benefits of these development works. The Chief Minister said in his address that now the picture of Purvanchal has changed. Traveling from Ghazipur to Lucknow, Kashi and Gorakhpur has become very easy. Connectivity has improved through Purvanchal Expressway and Gorakhpur-Varanasi Highway and the government is now working to extend Purvanchal Expressway to Shaktinagar by connecting it to Chandauli and Varanasi.

‘Those who honored the invaders used to bow their noses to the mafia’

Making a scathing attack on SP and the previous governments, CM Yogi said that the people who divided the society used to honor foreign invaders and rub their nose in front of the dreaded mafia. He said that earlier Fatiha was read by visiting the graves of mafia, but the present government has broken the back of criminals and mafia under the ‘zero tolerance’ policy. Recalling the late MLA Krishnanand Rai, the Chief Minister said that he had fought valiantly against the mafia, but he and seven other youth were brutally murdered by the elements who were under the patronage of power. Today there is no place left for such elements in the state.

Mafia has no place in the land of Pauhari Baba and Maharishi Jamdagni.

Underlining the religious and spiritual importance of Ghazipur, known as Lahuri Kashi, CM Yogi said that this holy land has been the abode of Maharishi Jamdagni, Lord Parshuram and Pauhari Baba. The growth of mafia in such a holy district does not suit at any cost. He appealed to the public to elect such representatives who will truly advocate for them and not those who are involved in obtaining illegal arms licenses and capturing public properties. During the program, the Chief Minister accused Congress and SP of insulting great men and said that only the society that respects national leaders always moves forward.
