CM Yogi announces, make roads pothole-free before October 10 | News India

Lucknow, September 24 (HS). Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to complete the special campaign to make the roads of the state pothole-free by October 10 in view of the upcoming festivals like Sharadiya Navratri, Dussehra and Deepawali.

While holding a meeting with various departments on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that during festivals, the traffic in the state is more than usual. A large number of foreign tourists also come. It is the joint responsibility of all of us to make walking on the road a pleasant experience for everyone. The work of pothole removal and road repair should be done with good quality.

While giving instructions to the Mandi Parishad, the Chief Minister said that farmers are the biggest consumers of roads. Special attention should be paid to the convenience of farmers. Roads should be built using the FDR method. Through this method, natural resources, money and time are saved and the quality of work improves. He said that the repair and drainage work of all the roads under the Mandi Samiti should be completed within the stipulated time. Special attention should be paid to quality. While talking to the NHAI officials, the Chief Minister said that toll tax should not be collected until the construction of the highway is completed.

While being aware of the departmental action plan for the pothole eradication campaign, the Chief Minister directed that there is no dearth of budget for roads, it is necessary that all departments do better planning. He directed all the departments to ensure that the road construction agency, contractor will also take the responsibility of maintaining the road for the next 05 years after its construction. The rules and conditions should be clearly mentioned in this regard. The departmental minister and officers should make random visits to the field and review the construction projects weekly. Accountability for the work should also be fixed. The Chief Minister emphasized on mechanizing the work instead of manual. He said that all the departments should have adequate equipment for road repair. The action of repairing the patches of the roads should be done on auto mode.

The Chief Minister said that haphazard work done on roads can lead to accidents. After laying sewer lines and pipelines on roads, they should be repaired properly. High breakers on roads can lead to accidents. Hence, table top breakers should be constructed on roads.

Chief Minister Yogi said that geo tagging of the campaign of pothole removal and reconstruction should be done. It should be linked to the PM Gatishakti portal, as well as its own portal should also be developed on the same lines so that continuous monitoring of the quality of work can be done. The work of repairing the expressway should also be taken forward, so that the movement of people can be smooth during festivals. Prepare an action plan for the repair of roads constructed under MP and MLA funds.

The Chief Minister said that the buildings of the Sugarcane Committee and schools should be repaired by the Sugarcane Department. He said that the concept of village secretariats in the state has been accepted as a model by the Central Government. The offices of the Sugarcane Committee should be upgraded on the lines of village secretariats. Useful information should be displayed on the display board for the farmers and the queries of the farmers should be resolved.

He said that a proposal should be prepared to provide facilities like drinking water, toilet, canteen etc. through CSR system in Mandi Samiti and industrial establishments at all the district headquarters of the state. Women self-help groups should also be associated with this work. Availability of food at low cost for farmers should be ensured through canteens in Mandis. Arrangements for CCTV, street lights and cleanliness etc. should be ensured for security in industrial establishments.

The Chief Minister said that the concept of smart roads should be promoted at prime locations in Nagar Panchayats, Municipal Corporations and Municipal Councils of all districts. Similar facade lights should be installed on smart roads. The Urban Development Department should also display uniformity in the facade lighting of cities.

Chief Minister Yogi said that urbanization is continuously expanding in the state. Illegal colonies should not be allowed to develop under any circumstances. New colonies should be handed over only after the availability of basic facilities like roads, electricity, water etc.
