While addressing the journalists after offering special prayers to Baba Bholenath in the historical and famous Tarakeshwar temple of Hooghly district, Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari said that the huge lack of public support was clearly visible in this so-called Maha Dharna of Mamata Banerjee. He quipped that only 150 people and 200 journalists had reached there to cover them, which clearly shows that the people of the state have now completely rejected TMC and the political plight of the party has now come to the fore.

She said that ousting the BJP from power is no longer just a simple political goal for her, but has now become the biggest and last mission of her life, which she will complete with unwavering determination till her last breath. Mamata Banerjee raised serious questions on the fairness of the elections, claiming that the BJP had achieved this victory by large-scale “rigging” and manipulation in the counting of votes in 177 out of 294 seats in West Bengal.

Encouraging the party workers, who are dejected by the continuous arrests of several top TMC leaders on serious charges of corruption, intimidation and extortion and the party’s crushing defeat, Mamata Banerjee said that she will never abandon her grassroots workers in “these difficult times”. Accusing the BJP government at the Center of forcibly breaking TMC with the help of central agencies, he raised the slogan, “If we win, we will remove BJP.” The TMC chief alleged that her MLAs and councilors were being intimidated, but she would never let this “conspiracy” succeed.
