CM Shinde files nomination from Kopri-Pachpakhadi seat, contests with political guru's nephew

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has filed his candidature from Kopri-Pachpakhari seat on Monday. Meanwhile, CM Shinde showed his strength through road show. Union Minister Ramdas Athawale was also present in the nomination of CM Shinde. Before nomination, CM Shinde paid tribute to his late political guru Anand Dighe. Notably, Shinde will face Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Kedar Dighe, who is the nephew of Anand Dighe.

CM Shinde showed strength through road show

Before leaving the house for nomination, Shinde paid homage to late Dighe and performed aarti at Anand Ashram. Chief Minister Shinde rode in a chariot shaped vehicle. Hundreds of supporters participated in CM Shinde's road show carrying Shiv Sena flags and big posters of the Chief Minister. Shinde's road show started from Dutt Mandir at Modela Check Naka and passed through the main roads of Thane. The road show continued for about two hours till it reached the ITI centre. Shinde filled the enrollment form at the ITI center after 1.30 pm. The deadline for filing nomination papers for Maharashtra Assembly elections is ending on Tuesday.

Shinde expressed confidence of victory

Before filing nomination papers, CM Shinde took blessings from Yogiraja Maharaj Goswami, a descendant of Saint Eknath Maharaj. Shinde's chariot, adorned with a green and saffron dupatta, carried pictures of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Anand Dighe. Shinde expressed confidence of victory and described the electoral contest between Mahayuti and MVA as an important choice between development and non-development.

Speaking to the media, Shinde said, 'This is a fight between development and destruction.' He enumerated the development works done by the state government in the last two and a half years. Shinde has been undefeated as a Shiv Sena (Undivided) candidate in the Kopri-Pachpakhadi constituency since 2009.

BJP released third list

The matter is still stuck in MVA and some seats in Congress regarding the assembly elections in Maharashtra. In that, candidates are announced one after the other by BJP. At present BJP has announced the third list of candidates. In which names of 25 candidates have been announced.
