CM Nitish did aerial survey of rivers in Champaran and Gopalganj, gave necessary instructions to officials


Patna/East Champaran, July 8 (HS). Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday conducted an aerial survey in East and West Champaran along with Gopalganj district and took stock of the rising water level of the rivers. During this, departmental officers were also present with the Chief Minister. CM Nitish took stock of the situation of possible floods while sitting in a helicopter and gave necessary instructions to the departmental officers present there. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took stock of the rising water level of the rivers in West Champaran, East Champaran and Gopalganj. Along with this, he also inspected the Gandak Barrage located on the India-Nepal border. At 11 am, CM Nitish left for aerial survey via helicopter from Patna Airport.

During this, the Chief Minister saw the water level of other rivers including Gandak. The Chief Minister also took stock of the erosion and anti-erosion works being carried out in Gandak Barrage in Valmikinagar, Kailash Nagar of Bagaha, Shastri Nagar and other areas and issued necessary guidelines and said that all flood relief works should be ensured as per the SOP. He said that I believe, the disaster victims have the first right on the state treasury. He also directed all the Water Resources Department Engineers and District Magistrates to remain alert after reviewing the flood preparations. It is noteworthy that due to continuous rains in Nepal, the catchment area of ​​​​many major rivers including Gandak flowing in Bihar, the water level of the rivers of Bihar is increasing rapidly. The water of the rivers is spreading rapidly in the lower areas. In such a situation, once again the danger of flood is looming in Bihar.
