CM Hemant Soren’s major crackdown on the liquor mafia: Noose to tighten through the recruitment of 583 new constables and GPS monitoring.

The state government has now announced an all-out fight against the mafias running illegal liquor trade and syndicates in Jharkhand. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has approved many historic and tough decisions to make the Excise Department more efficient and transparent. To break the back of the gangs involved in illegal liquor smuggling, overrating and embezzling government revenue in the state, the government has now decided to create a strong security cover on the ground. Under this strategic step, a big announcement has been made to recruit 583 new constables in the excise department as well as to install modern GPS monitoring system on transport vehicles.

The biggest need was to overcome the shortage of manpower at the field level to effectively stop illegal liquor stores and smuggling. Keeping this in mind, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has given instructions to complete the recruitment process for a total of 583 new constable posts in the Excise Department as soon as possible. With the arrival of these trained soldiers, the checking operation at the state borders, checkposts and suspicious areas will be made more aggressive. The department will now have adequate ground level forces against smugglers who cause loss to the government exchequer, which will create direct fear among the criminals.

Real-time tracking of every vehicle and consignment will be done through GPS monitoring.

The government has taken the help of technology to curb the methods of liquor smuggling. Now high-tech GPS tracking system has been made mandatory on all transport vehicles and consignments carrying liquor in the state. Through this, the moment-to-moment location and movement of every vehicle will be monitored from the product headquarters itself. If any vehicle deviates from the fixed route or stops at any suspicious place, the system will immediately issue an alert. This modern use of technology will completely stop the irregularities on the way and the game of distributing goods at illegal bases.

Revenue increase and final blow to mafia network

With these strict and far-sighted decisions of the government, on one hand there is expected to be a huge increase in the excise revenue of the state, on the other hand the empire of the mafias running illegal liquor syndicates has also been shaken. After receiving continuous complaints for some time, this strict step taken by Chief Minister Hemant Soren has made it clear that there will be no room left for illegal activities in Jharkhand.
